Bomba Estéreo was born in Bogotá, Colombia in 2005 as a pilot project led by the musician and audio-visual artist Simon Mejia with singer Li Saumet for recording their first album "Vol 1". In 2008, Bomba Estéreo launched its second album, "Explode". This work was published in 8 countries and gave international visibility thanks to the success of their single "Fire". Thus opening an important window to the international market offering the possibility to play different scenarios United States, Asia and Europe. In 2010, Bomba Estéreo was awarded "Best New Band In The World" by MTV Iggy. In 2012, Bomba Estéreo released their third album, "Tropical Elegance" which takes the band to another level, making his first tour of Africa, a Grammy nomination Glatin for "Best Alternative album" and the award for "Best band of 2012" iTunes Latino. Bomba Estéreo launches in 2015 its fourth album, "Dawn", under the label Sony Music US Latin. This album, produced by Ricky Reed increased the international prestige of Bomba Estéreo, reviewed by major international media and critically acclaimed. The album gave him two nominations for the Latin Grammy for "Best Alternative Album" and "Record Of The Year" for his single "Fiesta" in collaboration with rapper and actor Will Smith, with whom the band performed at the ceremony Grammys in November 2015. And, in addition, had a nomination for "Best Latin Album, Rock, Alternative or Urban" on GRAMMY Awards. Dawn in 2016 received gold record for sales in Colombia.
