| Roswell Rudd and Malicool
COMES TO THE CATSKILLS
|
| May 17th 2008 |
Internationally renowned trombonist ROSWELL RUDD joins several well-known Malian musicians in a special concert on May 17th at Big Twig Studios in Roscoe, New York. Rudd’s MALI-cool combo performs in the Saturday evening concert, which benefits Jeffersonville, New York-based community radio station WJFF Radio Catskill.
Hailed by New York Times columnist John Wilson as “… a trombonist of such sweeping power and majesty that he transcends all styles”, Rudd has influenced an entire generation of musicians.
Meanwhile, the African musicians that make up the MALI-cool experience are known as sterling musical improvisers whose traditional instruments provide entertaining contrasts and wonderful harmony with Rudd's trombone mastery. Together, the ensemble presents a fun, whimsical and masterful program that appeals to lovers of various musical genres.
Tickets are on sale now for $25.00 apiece. To order, call 845-482-4141 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on weekdays.
