World Music Institute is back at it again with its highly anticipated annual presentation, Africa Now! in partnership with the Apollo Theater. This year’s concert will be hosted by South African comedian, coproducer and writer Loyiso Gola. The audience will be treated to music from a diverse, jam-packed lineup. Mbongwana Star’s founding members Coco Ngambali and Theo Nzonza bring the rich  sounds of traditional Congolese music blended with heavy bass lines and electronics. Also performing is Mali’s Songhoy Blues, showcasing tunes from their first album, Music in Exile. Their unique sound brings a fresh take to the grassroots songs of Mali’s Songhoy people while incorporating contemporary rock and hip-hop with rich guitar riffs. Daby Toure transports the audience to many places around the world.
