Afro Roots Fest 2021: Photo Essay

Miami's Afro Roots Fest 2021 presented an extravaganza of live and virtual performances on May 1 at the North Miami Beach Bandshell. Virtual sets by Vieux Farka Toure in Mali and Fulu Miziki in Uganda (originally from Democratic Republic of Congo) interspersed live performances by Afro-Nicaruaguan singer/songwriter Philip Montalban and Sacred Steel pedal steel guitar master Roosevelt Collier with his band, including special guests Richard Bona on bass and Weedie Braimah on djembe and congas.

It was full night of music, with Afropop's own Georges Collinet as the virtual host. You can watch the entire concert on YouTube here:
