Don't have Saturday plans? Now you do. In partnership with the Peace Corps and the Maysles Documentary Center, Afropop Worldwide is presenting a FREE screening of the film "Girl Rising," followed by a panel discussion on the myriad connections between art, travel, and women's rights. The movie tells the stories of nine girls from different parts of the world who face arranged marriages, child slavery, and other powerful injustices. Despite these obstacles, the brave girls offer hope and inspiration. By getting an education, they're able to break barriers and begin to create change. The event is free, but RSVP is required.
