Ali Mourad Live at Jao’s Pub
Ali Mourad (sometimes Aly Mourady) is a singer/bandleader from Diego Suarez at the northern tip of Madagascar. He plays the characteristic dance music of that region, salegy. But his is a younger, harder, faster version specific to Diego: salegy gouma. This is an excerpt of the band performing at Jao's Pub in the capital, Tana. Jao's is the nightclub owned and run by salegy pioneer Jaojoby. This was filmed and recorded by Afropop Worldwide in April 2014.
