Baloji's New Video: A Critique of the Alcohol Industrial Complex
Congolese-Belgian rapper Baloji has been a busy man in recent weeks. From collaborations with artists like the noirwave pioneer Petite Noir, to his own highly ambitious projects, it seems like Baloji is dropping dopeness everywhere. A little over a month after releasing the stunning visuals to his song "Capture," featuring Petite Noir and Muanza, Baloji follows it up with the equally stunning video for “Unité & Litre,” featuring Mipipo. It is the second single from his upcoming EP 64 Bits and Malachite. The English-subtitled video was directed by Baloji and it follows Congolese dancer Jolie Ngemi as she dances through various locales, before finally arriving in a brewery. The video culminates with Ngemi slumped on the floor. 64 Bits and Malachite will be released on Oct. 30. You can pre-order it here.
