British producer/ Cumbia Maestro Quantic is no stranger to remaking the classics in his tropical image. On 2012's Ondatropica, he revamped Black Sabbath's "Iron Man" into a rum-loving swirl of accordion drenched sing-along. Then, to kick off Ondatropica's most recent European tour, the group released a cumbiafied version of Fela Kuti's "Chop'n'Quench." And now? He's gone and done it again, this time to Lauryn Hill's immortal "Doo Wop." Featuring talented vocalist (and past collaborator)  Ana Tijoux, Quantic's take  harnesses subtle 70's horns (think C. Mayfield) and languid guitars to a ultra-tight cumbia groove, keeping the cover in the general orbit of the original while imbuing it with a flavor all its own.
