Blitz The Ambassador- "African In New York"
The heat’s finally broken a little bit, but we know where some of it went- the promo campaign for The Warm Up EP, the first Blitz The Ambassador record since Native Sun. It’s out August 6th, and between the video for the first single, “Dikembe”, and “African In New York”, the second track off the EP (released all of 14 hours ago at the time this article was written), it’d be fair to say that it’ll probably move some copies. Er... or whatever it is the internet does with good music now a days. Spotify plays? #2013. See: the brilliant Coming To America sample and artwork, a beat that don’t quit, lyrics in keeping with Blitz’s reputation for biting insight, and a Jay Z* sample as a cherry on top. At the minimum, a listen through “African In New York” will have you hungry to check out this guy’s record collection -that guitar and bass sample that trails on after the beat cuts out? Spot on. Look for the EP (and probably a review from us) early next month.  
*What's the protocol here? The sample's from "99 Problems", which came out about a decade before Jay dropped the hyphen, so can we still call it a "Jay-Z track", or is it now a "Jay Z track"? This world is too complicated...
