Gala Greetings In Absentia
Star-studded as our 30th anniversary gala was, not everyone could make it. In a travel-based business like music, and working internationally as we do, it's not a huge surprise. But it was still a special occasion, so some long-time friends of Afropop sent along little video greetings to the gala.
When we played it to the Afropop family at City Winery there was a lot of cheering at familiar faces, hushed silence when people sang and mad respect for Angelique Kidjo for the power play of recording with her Grammys--three of 'em!--on full display behind her.
