It's been a minute since NYC-based DJ and international sound curator Geko Jones dropped anything new on us. We don't blame him, though. He's a busy man (see: Que Bajo). So it was a surprise when we discovered in our Soundcloud feed a massive new hour-long mix from Geko that spans everything from Colombian traditional folkloric cumbia outfit Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto (playing in NYC on the 26th) to Sean Paul to soca-king Machel Montano. The eclectic mix has been filling up our speakers all day and really characterizes the international sound that DJs like Geko go digging for when looking for a new track for their latest remix or rework. With foot in the dusty floor of an obscure South American record store and the other in a slick NYC club on a summer night, Que Cojones is sure to please the adventorous listener ofsounds from beyond North America.
