R2Bees Drop New Track + Video!
We’ve had our eyes and ears on the talented outfit R2BEES (Refuse 2 be Broke) for a minute now thanks to the always awesome Akwaaba Music bringing them to our attention. The popular group out of Ghana creates a new strain of hiplife with elements of dancehall and pop R&B. Oh and supposedly they aren't afraid to drop a highlife song (!) as well.
No doubt the group is heavily influenced by urban, western pop sounds (and style) but there is also something undeniably Ghanaian about them. The results are often catchy and tie an impressive string between various styles seamlessly.
Recently, the group dropped a new song called “Life (Walaahi)” and offered some new visuals to go with it. The track is a inspirational, mid-tempo offering produced by Killbeatz and comes on the eve of a few European dates including an appearance at the Africa Unplugged show at Wembley in the UK on August 27th.
