Lakou Mizik is an excellent Haitian roots pop group, mixing rara horns with compas bass, guitar and drums. We were very impressed when we caught the group at globalFest in January, and you can hear our exclusive recording of the band in action in our program “globalFest 2016.” As Lakou Mizik prepares to release a new album, Wa Di Yo, on April 1 via Cumbancha Discovery, they have shared a short preview video, “Poze,” with us. The video follows the group from an acoustic jam around a table, to the recording studio, to the backyard, hand-washing laundry in a soapy tub.
