Lee "Scratch" Perry's Super Ape Tour Coming to Brooklyn
Back in July, we wrote about the Kickstarter campaign to supply dub legend Lee "Scratch" Perry with a giant inflatable gorilla for his tour in commemoration of the classic Super Ape album. Luckily, the campaign was a success and the giant gorilla will be joining Perry, as he takes the stage next Thurs., Oct. 1 at Brooklyn Bowl. The performance will be last in the Dub Champions Festival series, bringing Perry and the Subatomic Sound System on tour across the U.S. Perry, the larger-than-life mad genius who worked with Bob Marley and the Clash, has produced hundreds of records throughout his astonishingly prolific career. Out of all of them, Super Ape stands out as one of his most iconic. What a thrill to see Perry perform the album live next week!
