Afropop Worldwide

It was a strong year for semifinalists for the 2019 Afropop Syli d'Or prize, given to an outstanding up-and-coming Canadian cultural music group.

But once we conferred we realized we had to give it up to EMDE, who came to Canada by way of Sikasso, Mali. Check him out:

EMDE also walked away with the big Syli d'Or prize and will be performing at the Nuits d'Afrique Festival, July 9-21 in Montreal. Usually an Afropopper makes it up north for the festivities, and hopefully this year will be no exception.
