Meridian Brothers cover "Purple Haze"
Colombia's Meridian Brothers have never been accused of being normal. Not once. Not ever. Their ongoing exploration of guitar bent psychedelia and neo-tropical nightmare continues on their latest single, a suitable tripped out cover of the Hendrix standard. With an overall sound that is a piece with last year's excellent Desesperanza, the track breathes new life into the song (or rather, reanimates it's half-rotted corpse), translating its lyrics into Spanish, and transforming it's usual blissed out guitar wave with what could be described as the sound made by Dali's melting clocks. Check it out! You can read our 4 tracks interview with Eblis Javier Alvarez Vargas HERE.
