Meridian Brothers cover "Purple Haze"
Colombia's Meridian Brothers have never been accused of being normal. Not once. Not ever. Their ongoing exploration of guitar bent psychedelia and neo-tropical nightmare continues on their latest single, a suitable tripped out cover of the Hendrix standard. With an overall sound that is a piece with last year's excellent Desesperanza, the track breathes new life into the song (or rather, reanimates it's half-rotted corpse), translating its lyrics into Spanish, and transforming it's usual blissed out guitar wave with what could be described as the sound made by Dali's melting clocks.
