Blitz the Ambassador and Seun Kuti collaborate on "Make You No Forget," released today on Jakarta Records. The exciting new track is the first single off the forthcoming Afropolitan Dreams. Blitz has been releasing a lot of outstanding material recently, including several videos ("Dikembe" & "Success") and an EP. You should probably check it out. We'll wait. Present are tight ensemble sections, melodic bass lines, and intertwining guitar riffs, all of which serve as a vehicle for some great old school rhymes. Blitz is a masterful MC, both a capable wordsmith and a true student of hip-hop. Note the lyrical allusion to Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth's "They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.)" just before the hook. Add in the powerful grooves of Seun Kuti, and you've got something decidedly new. The two are currently on tour in Europe. We are all very excited to hear the full album, which drops April 28th. Seun Kuti also has a record coming out, backed by Egypt 80, on May 24.
