Quarantunes: Koffee's Tiny Desk Concert

We went pretty heavy on some of the biggest names in our world last week, so this week we're going to try to bring it back into the present—although when it comes to Koffee, man, the future is bright.

The 19-year-old Jamaican is the youngest artist and only woman to ever win the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album, taking home the honor in January 2020. She's got a tight, playful flow, and a growing, glowing list of guest spots, including the verses on “Repeat” with J Hus, a track with the single flaw is that it's only two and half minutes long, so you have to listen to it, like, a thousand times a day.

Koffee can rap, sing, play guitar; she's great over a trap beat and, to judge from this Tiny Desk Concert, in more “intimate” environs too. Where she's heading next is anyone's guess, but it's something we're looking forward to.
