Scholar: Dwight Reynolds
Dwight F. Reynolds, Associate Professor in the Department of Religious Studies, Director of the Center for Middle East Studies, and Chair of Islamic and Near Eastern Studies at the University of California. Reynolds is the author of Heroic Poets, Poetic Heroes: The Ethnography of Performance in an Arabic Oral Epic Tradition (Cornell University Press, 1995). He is also the editor of the pioneering anthology, Interpreting the Self: Autobiography in the Arabic Literary Tradition, and co-editor of The Middle East, a volume of the Garland Encyclopedia of World Music.
