Ticket Giveaway: Susana Baca At Pioneer Works
World Music Institute, in conjunction with Pioneer Works, presents two-time Latin Grammy Award winner, singer-songwriter, ethnomusicologist, folklorist and teacher Susana Baca. More than just a singer, Baca is a poet and a historian. With her mellifluous voice, she and her band will entertain, educate and open the minds of her audience with her Afro-Peruvian rhythms, melodies, beats and dance. This concert is presented as part of World Music Institute’s Origins Series. This series highlights artists who dig into the traditional beliefs and roots of their culture’s music to narrate their origins, as well as preserving and affirming cultural identities and legacies. Susana Baca performs on Fri., March 17 at Pioneer Works in Brooklyn at 8 p.m. Afropop is giving away two pairs of tickets to the concert.
