Trippy New Video From Kanaku y El Tigre: "Quema Quema Quema"
Peruvian psychedelic folk duo Kanaku y El Tigre have put out a second video for their recent album, this time for the title track, "Quema Quema Quema." The band has a knack for expertly pairing their music with visuals, as we saw in May's video for the dreamy and romantic "Si Tu Mueres Manana." It features kids in Lima skateboarding down a highway at sunset and had all the nostalgia-for-lost-youth centers in our brains firing on high. But with "Quema Quema Quema," we're in a very different kind of dream. The rhythm is more insistent, the vocals more distorted, and the visuals glitchy and kaleidoscopic. The whole thing is soaked in toxic shades of magenta, yellow and turquoise, and the mood is decidedly sinister. Images multiply, divide and collapse into each other. All in all, it's a real trip--check it out! You can also read our interview with band member Nico Saba here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obZ75e5KfZ4&feature=youtu.be
