Latin Grammy winners Los Van Van are innovators of the Cuban style of salsa known as songo, combining Afro-Cuban styles with rock, funk, and disco. Since its founding in 1969, the band has maintained its position as one of the top bands in Cuba through its fresh material and charismatic leader and bandleader Juan Formell.
