Wherever you live, summertime means festival time, and one of the most talked-about music festivals among young Africans is Afro Nation. Since its debut in 2019, this festival has delivered some of Africa’s biggest stars to its main stage for over 20,000 Afrobeats, Amapiano and Dancehall fans to enjoy. This year, Afro Nation returned to Portimão, Portugal in June, followed by a second edition in Detroit, MI, in August. In this episode, DJ Kix takes us behind the curtain in conversation with Afro Nation co-founder, Adesegun Adeosun Jr (a.k.a. SMADE), along with Adesope Olajide (official host of Afro Nation 2024), and Esosa Uddoh (Afro Nation Communications & Social Media Manager). And we hear music from this year’s headliners, including Asake, Tyla, Fally Ipupa and Rema.
