Sun., Dec. 4., 3pm - 7:30pm | Billie Holiday Theatre
Fet Iajwa Showcase and Dance Party, Cumbe Studio, Brooklyn

We're pleased to partner with our friends and colleagues at Cumbe Studio, Brooklyn's premier dance studio for African and African diaspora dance classes, as they celebrate Cumbe's 10th anniversary benefit with their Fet Lajwa festival this Sunday, Dec. 4, at the Billie Holiday Theater in downtown Brooklyn. The event kicks off at 4 p.m. with student recitals, with themes such as batala Brazilian drumming, Chicago style steppin', Ivory Coast inspirations and others. Then the event elevates into high gear with a Cumbe studio dance party from 6:30-8:30. Believe us, this crew knows how to throw a fun, fun, fun dance party. Afropop's Sean Barlow will be there to do a shout-out from the stage and cut a rug that night. Be there! And bravo to Cumbe founder and director Jimena Martinez and her unstoppable crew.
