Kiko Villamizar at Lincoln Center Atrium
Born in Miami to Colombian parents, musician Kiko Villamizar learned Colombian folk music before formally studying jazz and travelling the world. His fusion of traditional Colombian rhythms with Caribbean influences, performed with a psychedelically electric ensemble that includes traditional Afro-Caribbean drums and the Colombian gaita flute, offers a beautiful collage of melodies and rhythms that are always received with standing ovations.
