OneBeat, a meeting of 25 global musicians hailing from over 17 countries, closes its month-long U.S. residency and tour with an explosive final show at Murmrr, Brooklyn. This one-of-a-kind show features organic mashups of traditional songs from Mongolia, edgy electronica and intoxicating bass lines from Southern Africa, old-time foot percussion and Afro-Brazilian grooves, in a celebration of how music invigorates our local and global communities. OneBeat is an initiative of the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs in collaboration with the groundbreaking New York-based music organization Bang on a Can’s Found Sound Nation.
