Will Calhoun's Mali Project

In the years since Will Calhoun made his name as the drummer for Living Color, he's worked with B.B. King, Mick Jagger, Jaco Pastorious, Harry Belafonte, Pharoah Sanders, Jack Dejohnette, Paul Simon, Lou Reed, The Allman Brothers, Lauryn Hill, Marcus Miller, Dr.John, Carly Simon, Herb Alpert, Steve Vai, Mike Stern, Yasiin Bey aka Mos Def, Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood, Wayne Shorter (on the Grammy-winning CD "High Life"), the Moroccan Gnawan Masters, and hip-hop pioneers Run-DMC and Public Enemy. But for all that, arguably his greatest passion has been for the music of Mali, where he has traveled a number of times and played with the likes of Oumou Sangare and Salif Keita. This is a rare chance to hear and see Calhoun's personal distillation of a remarkable lifetime in music.
