Originating in Dominican Republic and now based in NY, Yasser Tejeda and Palotré is a group that is redefining the Afro Dominican Jazz genre. Conceptualized and led by guitarist and composer Yasser Tejeda, Palotré is comprised of drummer/percussionist Victor Otoniel Vargas, percussionist Jonathan Troncoso and bassist Kyle Miles. Palotré uses rock influences and jazz harmonies mixed with the traditional rhythms of Dominican music to make folkloric music more accessible. Palotré's debut album Mezclansa (2009) was dubbed one of the "100 essential recordings of Dominican music" by Dominican Republic's Association of Art Writers (Acroarte). Palotré is currently finishing their second album, which will continue to inspire listeners to explore their roots and aims to share this rich culture with wider audiences.

Yasser Tejeda & Palotré is an Afro-Dominican fusion group that blends traditional folkloric roots music from Dominican Republic with jazz, rock and Caribbean rhythms.
