Ticket Giveaway: Seun Kuti and Egypt 80, With Super Yamba Band
We were all upset to hear that the upcoming Mahmoud Ahmed and Hailu Mergia concert was recently canceled, but luckily we have another exciting ticket giveaway opportunity for you: Seun Kuti and Egypt 80 with Super Yamba Band. Afropop, along with our friends at the World Music Institute, is offering two free tickets for the show on Wed., Sept. 20 at 8 p.m. at Brooklyn Bowl. This concert is a part of the World Music Institute's Masters of African Music Series. To enter to win tickets, simply email info@afropop.org, with the subject line “Seun Kuti at Brooklyn Bowl.” Win or lose, you're going to want to see this show. As the youngest son of the legendary Fela Kuti, Seun Kuti has been continuing his father's legacy be leading his band, Egypt 80, and upholding political resistance in his music. If you haven't already, make sure to check out Afropop's recent interview with Seun Kuti here.
