Today's a big day for Fally Ipupa. For all the Afropop regulars out there, you'll surely know this name, the biggest star in contemporary Congolese pop. We've seen Fally perform several times (at Symphony Space in 2016 and the 42 West nightclub in 2015), and had the chance to sit down for a conversation with him when he was in town this fall. A protégé of soukous star Koffi Olomide, Fally is a solid icon in the Congolese music scene and a growing star in the international Francophone pop world (with 1 million+ followers on Facebook). So what's in store for today? Recently, Fally Ipupa teamed up with Booba, the French-Senegalese megastar (featured in our Fresh Cuts series) for a new single: "Kiname." The track and accompanying video are due for release today, to much anticipation and hype.
