Jidenna Premiers Afrobeats-Flavored Anthem “Little Bit More”
Still a fresh face in the American pop scene, Nigerian-American singer Jidenna’s musical career has ballooned following collaborations with Janelle Monae and rap titan Kendrick Lamar. This week, Jidenna's smooth voice and sharp wardrobe are displayed in a new video and single, “Little Bit More.” Sporting slick suits of African wax prints, Jidenna turns to the increasingly popular Afrobeats genre for his musical inspiration, rapping “I'ma need the whole night/And a little bit more” before turning to Nigerian pidgin English by the end of the song. “Little Bit More” features a driving beat, steel drums, and processed vocal samples that culminate in a bright, fun summer anthem.
