Save the Elephants! Film Event August 10, Tickets on Sale Now
Elephants, often considered an iconic symbol of the wildlife of Africa, are seriously endangered. While there were over 1.3 million elephants in Africa in 1979, there are only 460,000 today (in 2013). In order to raise money to help save the elephants, artist Davina Dobie will be holding a special screening of the National Geographic film "Battle for the Elephants" at Guild Hall, 158 Main Street, East Hampton, NY 11937 on Saturday, August 10. The film, written, produced, and directed by John Heminway, exposes the growing endangerment of the elephants by analyzing the criminal ivory trade, which drives the killing of these elephants by poachers. The evening will begin at 6:30 PM with cocktails, a screening of the film at 7:00 PM, and a discussion with special guests from 8:00 PM - 8:30 PM. Tickets can be purchased here. Regular tickets cost $150 and VIP seating cost $300. Official event poster below: 55
