Let Your Congressmen Know Your Thoughts on Public Media
You probably heard that yesterday, March 16, the Trump administration presented its 2018 budget, eliminating funding for the National Endowment for the Humanities, National Endowment for the Arts, and the Corporation For Public Broadcasting. The CPB in 1987 was the first, absolutely essential funder of Afropop. And the NEH and NEA have been steady supporters of our work for many years. Budget decisions are always a negotiation between Congress and the White House. And it always makes a huge difference how many constituents congressmen hear from about an issue. Now is the time to let your congressman know your thoughts on public media and public funding. You can contact them by telephone, email, letter or fax. Find telephone number of your member of Congress http://www.house.gov/representatives/ For info on NEH’s situation: National Humanities Alliance nhalliance.org For info on NEA’s situation: Americans for the Arts americansforthearts.org Please forward this information to your friends and colleagues and tell them what you think about the fate of public media in America.  Thank you.
