VIDEO- Fuse ODG- "Million Pound Girl (Badder Than Bad)"
Over the past year or so,  Fuse ODG has proven himself to be one of the brightest stars in the fast moving world of afrobeats, the trans-continental anglophone pop music that seems to have made its home in the clubs (and radio stations) of London. A mixture of Ghanaian born rhythms and grime-bred flows, with a touch of dancehall's low-end kick, the mixture (at least the way that Fuse brews it) is a deliriously happy pop concoction, one that is (with a FEW exceptions) surely smile, if not dance, inducing for listeners. On the recently released video for his new single "Million Pound Girl,"  Fuse amps up this warm vibe, presenting an endearingly varied cross-section of young English society breaking it down in time with the song. It's cool to see a music that remains in such close connection with it's Diasporic roots getting so much mainstream attention, and it feels like an equal rarity to hear much of ANY music that is so inclusively open. A total pleasure, and one that we hope makes it's way to the US! http://youtu.be/xhYhX7c2KlQ
