Lawyer, trailblazing corporate executive, author, and speaker Chinwe Esimai's new book Brilliance Beyond Borders celebrates "immigrace": the genius and unique power of women immigrants making their mark in America. Through seventeen inspiring stories of trailblazing women in fields from fashion to finance, Brilliance Beyond Borders reveals the motivating forces and learned skills that drive the success of the leaders of our modern immigrant workforce at its highest level. Moderated by National Sawdust Ideas Zone Editor and poet Lynne Procope, this special evening will feature Chinwe Esimai in conversation with Bisila Bokoko, Albania Rosario, Dee Poku-Spalding, and National Sawdust co-founder and Kris Sebastian & Alberto Cribiore Artistic Director Chair, Paola Prestini.
Rounding out the event are special musical guests cellist Jeffrey Zeigler, pianist Hsing-ay Hsu, and a rousing retro-pop performance by the Brooklyn-based, East African group Alsarah & The Nubatones. Following the concert, Esimai will be available to sign copies of Brilliance Beyond Borders and the lobby bar and adjoining restaurant will be open for conversation and networking.
