Gato Preto brings together everything the international club culture does best : from the favela-funk of Rio to the Township-Groove of South Africa, to the kuduro-techno hybrid of Angola. Gato Preto brings all these ingredients to the Global Bass recipe, against a backdrop of Rave Party and breakbeats. The band consists of Lee Bass, composer and arranger of the group, and the powerful Portuguese punchlines of Mozambiquian MC fatale Gato Misteriosa. In 2013, their meeting in Germany gave birth to the collaborative project Gato Preto (“black cats” in Portuguese) which never ceased to enchant the dancefloors all around the globe. Their use of synths, effects processors, accompanied by African percussionists and dancers, groove and supersonic bass guarantees to keep their public in a trance. Beyond the energy that the group brings on stage, Gato Preto has also launched several viral videos within the Global Bass community.
