Harlem Week is a multi-week festival celebrating the heritage and vitality of Harlem. The festival began in 1974 as “Harlem Day” to create a positive vibe and bring Harlem residents and visitors together. Over the years it has grown into a month-long celebration featuring conferences, sporting events, youth programs, film screenings, dance parties and outdoor performances that attract visitors from across the world. Harlem Week 2025 takes place July 27 – August 24, 2025 in venues and streets throughout Harlem, New York City. This year’s theme is “Celebrate Our Magic,” encouraging attendees to embrace the rich history and dynamic culture of Harlem. Highlights include live music concerts, dance performances, educational forums, a family film series, open-air markets and a wide array of food vendors.
