After releasing five remarkable albums in the jazz vernacular, Pedro Giraudo has turned his formidable talents to the music of his native Argentina: Tango. While being a member of some of tango's most prestigious ensembles, including Pablo Ziegler's, and recording on Ruben Blades' album "Tangos," which won 2 Grammy awards, he debuted his own tango project at Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing. Since then he has quickly risen to the forefront of the US tango scene. This evening's performance celebrates the release of his first tango CD: "Vigor Tanguero."
