CC Smith
Afropop's Editor at Large CC Smith was founder, editor and publisher of internationally acclaimed world music magazine The Beat, published 1981-2009. Smith also produced and hosted a public radio show, "The African Beat" on KCRW-FM, 1983-94 and continued to present African and world music on Los Angeles FM stations KPFK, KCSN and KXLU, 1994-2010. She now curates the "Best of The Beat on Afropop" series of features selected from The Beat magazine, hosted on afropop.org.
