Photo Essay: globalFEST 2020

globalFEST 2020, the 17th edition of New York's now traditional, far-flung musical showcase, went down with exuberant energy on Jan. 12 at the Copacabana, a fitting start for what promises to be a rambunctious year! Afropop's Banning Eyre, along with fellow music mavens NPR's Anastasia Tsioulcas, WFMU's Rob Weisburg, host of "Transpacific Sound Paradise," and "All Songs Considered" host Bob Boilen wrapped up the festival—click here to hear it.

While you're listening, have a peek at some of Banning's photos from a marathon night of music. They appear roughly in order of the 12 sets.

And from all at Afropop Worldwide, Happy New Year!
