PA033 Malawi SQUARE
Mukwae Wabei Siyolwe reports on the first AfroPopup in Malawi.

In December 2024, Planet Afropop co-host Mukwae Wabei Siyolwe produced the first AfroPopup at the Uka Café, Kweza Cultural Hub in Lilongwe, Malawi. Despite torrential rain and power outages, the show went on with three young Malawian stars, Praise Umali, Chikondi Wiseman, and Maggie Kadrum. This podcast tells the story of the movers and shakers of the cultural industries in Malawi, who are spearheading grassroots initiatives and fostering a vibrant new crop of musical talent.
